Everyone deserves to know how they actually sound.

Most people never get honest feedback on their delivery. A friend says "you did great." A recruiter moves on to the next candidate without telling you why. The habits that are obvious to everyone listening — talking too fast, trailing off at the end of a sentence, saying "um" through the hard part — stay invisible to the one person who could actually fix them: you, while you're talking.

Presence exists to close that gap. Record a rehearsal, a pitch, a mock interview, a toast, and get back the same read a sharp, honest listener would give you — except it's specific, it's immediate, and you can ask for it as many times as you need to.

Practice should feel safe enough to actually do

The reason most rehearsal stays silent, in-your-head repetition instead of an out-loud take, is that saying it out loud and having someone hear it feels exposed. So we built the opposite: a rehearsal space with no audience. Nothing is graded by a person, nothing is shared unless you choose to share it, and a bad take costs you nothing but the ninety seconds it took to record it.

Scored, not just recorded

A voice memo app already lets you hear yourself back — it just doesn't tell you what to listen for. Presence measures 21 specific things across timing, voice, word choice and body language, because "that felt a bit off" isn't actionable and "you ran at 178 words per minute and your energy dropped in the last ten seconds" is. Every score comes with one thing to try differently on the next take, so a rehearsal turns into visible progress instead of just repetition.

Why it runs entirely on the device

A rehearsal is a rough draft by nature — the version where you fumble the wording, freeze up, or say something you'd never want on a server anywhere. Presence uses Apple's on-device speech and vision frameworks so a recording never leaves your phone. There's no account, because there's nothing to attach one to, and deleting a take removes it for good.
